Collection: RONALD T. CRAWFORD

Ronald Crawford is a painter, sculptor and stonemason. He received a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Oklahoma (1978) and a BA in Art History from the University of Calgary (1986), with further studies in Art and Design at Red Deer College and the Banff School of Fine Arts. There is a physical dimension to his paintings, no doubt influenced by his equally impressive sculptural stonework. His paintings combine plaster on board, which is carved into, shaped, sanded and painted, taking on a naturally eroded appearance and providing beautiful shadow and light. His subject matter is inspired by the landscape and shorelines of his home, Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
